Couture Dress Development

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project, completed in May 2016, was an individual end-term assignment wherein I was required to develop patterns and build a contoured dress from scratch.

The inspiration for the dress was a Calvin Klein dress worn by Selena Gomez at the 2015 Grammy Awards.

The original dress was made in a knitted fabric but for technical reasons my constructed garment was made in a woven shimmer georgette fabric, with a cotton twill lining running throughout the garment.
