International Fabric Sourcing

Product Development, Innovative Fabric Research

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project was done individually as my final semester Graduation Project at ABFRL Pantaloons, completed in April 2018 over the duration of four months. The Indian kids’ wear market is one of the most commercially viable segments of the Indian fashion industry, and brands have ventured into value-added fashion fabrics for a competitive edge over others.

A gap was identified in the product offerings of the company after a thorough customer feedback analysis, extensive market surveys and competitor analysis. Indian fabric vendors lack the production capabilities and capacities; hence this project explored the feasibility of venturing into overseas vendors for value-added fashionable fabrics in kids’ wear.

The project was aimed at researching about unique weaves and knits of innovative fabrics in the market and determining the practical implications of sourcing such value-added fabrics from overseas vendors which cannot be developed in India and to develop a commercially viable kids’ wear range that addressed the identified gap in kids’ wear brands for the company

Below you will find a gallery of photoshoot images of the kids' wear range developed as deliverables for the project.
